Klaipeda City Municipality Administration as a local authority isresponsible for creation and improvement of Klaipeda Culture Policy.T
The policy includes the main priority trends and principles of the cityculture development for the upcoming years (2007-2012). Among them,there are such goals as creation of attractive environment for artisticexpression, which includes formation of new public spaces for culturalneeds, presentation of Klaipeda culture on international and regionalscale, and stimulation of cultural innovations, and extension ofculture impact on economical city development, including expansion ofpossibilities to develop creative industries, collaboration betweencultural and business sectors. While achieving these goals, Klaipeda is fulfilling several projects that will propose new areas for cultural activities, create employment opportunities, attract tourists, encourage innovativeness and entrepreneurship and thus influence economic development of the city.
